Oh hey it’s this song! I didn’t realize what song this was going to be, or even that this song was an SJ-Happy song; I just knew it as “the song that they taught the dance to the audience in one of the Super Shows, and it’s ‘ooo-eeeee, da da da da da ooo-eeee'”, haha. OK, so on “Cooking? Cooking!” when I said one of the non-single songs on this EP was a tour standard, I actually DIDN’T mean this one.
If you’re not anticipating the beat of this song, the intro to this song makes it difficult to find the rhythm. It’s a 12/8 of all things, and they threw some syncopation into the bass line just to mess with you, even though the bass just walks around on the downbeat for the entire rest of the song. Speaking of weird song stuff, this song has the verses in A♭ major, and then does the chorus in B♭ major, transitioning up to a C major, every time they do it. The key changes all over the place in this song
Although Yesung has the best voice out of anyone in this group, he actually doesn’t come off as out of place or dominant like he does in “Cooking? Cooking!” and “Pajama Party.” For whatever reason I see the dominant singer in this song as Sungmin (even though percentage-wise he doesn’t have any more of this song than anybody else). Eunhyuk/Shindong get a significant amount of sing-rapping, too.
This is a pleasantly bouncy song, as I bet all SJ-Happy songs are, about being in love. The intro’s wonky and so is the outro (feels like it could have used an extra 2 bars, maybe), but otherwise this is gentle and singalongy and hard to dislike.
