Not sure I agree with this track ordering. Two electronic dance songs followed by two KRY ballads? (Or well, a KRY and a KY?) It would have been significantly more interesting if this was at least mid-tempo but then, this is a Kyuhyun and Yesung duet; there’s virtually no way that would have happened.
This one at least is not a breakup song; it’s a “You are amazing and I am awful and don’t deserve you because I am terrible and bad and horrible, but maybe you’d like me? but NO I SUCK.” It’s not as good as “Coagulation”, in part because it’s not as well-written of a song (the key change going into the bridge makes Yesung sound out of tune because of the note he’s holding, and also either he’s out of tune or the song is, transitioning back into the last chorus), but also… I am not sure KRY works without the R. And I’m surprised at myself for saying that.
This is such a gray, serious-sounding song. I’ve commented a lot about how Ryeowook, at least up to this point, tends to sing in a really overwrought fashion, but what I hadn’t realized was that his voice also brings brightness to KRY productions. In comparison to Kyuhyun and Yesung, he sounds young and sparkly, almost naive. This sounds like two middle-aged men standing under streetlamps in the rain.
Kyuhyun ends it on a C over a B♭ minor chord, which is jazzy but again, sounds old. This is not the album in which Super Junior embraces their aging (that would be either Mamacita or Devil) and also Kyuhyun is 22 on this song and Yesung is 26. NOT. OLD.
